Helps
Look up and research fun facts about rocket history, such as Goddard, the Explorer 1, the X-15, or Apollo 11.
You can find lots of information through different programs like NASA, the Kennedy Space Center or the Canada Space Agency. For videos, go to YouTube and find many NASA or National Geographic videos on launching rockets. For books, go to a local library.
The three main parts are:
Body Tube: main cylindrical body of a model rocket. It's the basic building block of all rockets, and contains the motor, payload, and space for the recovery system. The body tube also serves as an attachment point for the fins and nose cone.
Nose Cone: first part of the rocket to meet the air and is shaped like a cone. It's designed to reduce aerodynamic drag by changing the way the air flows around it. The best shape for a nose cone depends on the rocket's speed.
Fins: The reason rockets have fins has to do with stability. The fins help the rocket keep pointing in the direction it launched. When a rocket is flying through the air, changes in the air can make the rocket wobble. If it wobbles too much it can go off course.
Search online for ideas about model rocket crafts appropriate for Adventurer kids ages. Some examples can include NASA, the Kennedy Space Center, the Canada Space Agency or an aerospace museum.
"The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork." (NKJV) Read from the Bible Psalm 19:1 and explain the amazing creation of the universe and how science is looking for answers about the magnificentness of space and many more wonders surrounding it.
